Coach Furbay, Stearman, and myself would like to thank everyone who came out for the team this year. When the coaches get together to discuss the tryout results we consider 4 factors.
1. Player attitude. More important to us than playing ability. Every player excelled in this category.
2. Score. It's a clear cut way to determine who has worked hard on their game and wants it bad enough.
3. Varsity: Will the player be able to help us this year or possibly next?
4. JV: Does the player have the potential and promise to help Varsity in the future?
***We set out to fill the varsity with 8 players and JV with 8. Our sport is unique in the fact that we rely on the courses to provide a playing arena for us for free.
There will be an important meeting tomorrow (Friday)in my classroom (C190) for both Varsity and JV players who have made the team and parent(s) at 3:15 sharp. It is expected that at least one parent be present if possible. Please don't be late, Mr. Cowder will start the meeting with important administrative information, followed by the coaching staff's expectations and policies, and finishing with distributing team bags, head covers, push carts for varsity, and team shirts. My goal is to end the meeting by 4 p.m. if we can start on time.
